Where security is more than just a profession—it’s a commitment to staying one step ahead of evolving threats. I am Andre Mundell, a security risk assessor for Alwinco (Always in Control) South Africa, a distinguished leader in independent security risk assessment.

Security risk assessment is often confused with risk management or security management. However, these three concepts are completely unique—related, but not the same.

Our experience has given us a unique perspective on security. We view crime as a dynamic and constantly evolving entity, rather than something rigid and defined by books or training manuals. In short, crime can be seen as a living entity.

Despite having access to advanced technology in the security industry, over the last 60 years, the world has failed to change its approach to security and continues to lose the battle against crime.

will be functional and suitable for the working and living environment. Security solutions could also be as simple as implementing new policies rather than needlessly spending thousands on the ‘best technology available.’ You might not even need the best technology.
